MDHCC Gala 2018 Gains Momentum

The Maryland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is preparing for its fifth Annual Business Awards Holiday Gala event on the 18th of January. The gala is a networking event that will serve to celebrate the remarkable accomplishments in Maryland Hispanic Businesses. The event will take place at the Belvedere in Baltimore, Maryland. The ceremony is dedicated to honoring the finalists of the Business Excellence Awards and those who have shown the most diligent and adaptable approach to business. A selection of these finalists will be announced as the winners in respective categories.

 

Jorge Castillo, the president of the Maryland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, has stated the following in an official press release, “We want to congratulate all the nominees for the 2017 Business Excellence Awards.” Mr. Castillo continued to pay his respects to the finalists by stating, "These are people and organizations that have shown continued dedication and commitment to the Hispanic business community and the organizations that support it. The President of the MDHCC also expressed that the gala will focus on the integration of a variety of groups by stating, “This year we have an increasingly diverse group of people of different races and backgrounds, [that serves to] reflect our commitment to diversity, inclusion and collaboration between several different groups of business professionals and community leaders.” Castillo has reached out to the community of Maryland by stating, “I personally encourage you and invite you to join the diverse and exceptional list of members of the Chamber. Our doors are open to anyone who wants to expand their network and expand their markets, so join the Chamber, come to the Gala, join to a committee and participate".

 

The following companies and their affiliate companies have been selected as finalists:

 

Outstanding Business of the Year:

Allstate Floors, David Rosario State Farm, Supermarket Mega Mart, and Morgan Keller Construction Company.

 

Outstanding Corporate Partner of the Year:

Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation, BGE, Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, and Baltimore Branch Wells Fargo.

 

Outstanding Educator of the Year:

Roinne P. Pollard, Dr. Phoenix Liu, Javier Miyares, and Wallace Loh.

 

Outstanding Elected Official of the Year:

Anne Arundel County Executive Steven R. Schuh, Delegate of the State of Maryland Joseline Peña-Melnyk, Prince George's County Executive Rushern L. Baker III, and U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen.

 

Outstanding Non-Profit Organization of the Year:

Chesapeake Multicultural Resource Center, The Power of Women Hope Center, Catholic Charities in Action, and All Goes My Hero.

 

Outstanding Professional of the Year:

Estela Ramirez, Lt. Jae Hwang, Lupi Quinteros-Grady, Rudy Ruiz, and Silvia Rathell.

 

Outstanding Small Business of the Year:

Emerging Element, G & R Multiservices, The Taxes Franchising, and Palomino Media Group LLC.

 

Rising Star of the Year:

Daniella Díaz, Gabe Cazares, Julio Cervantes, Lilian Amaya, and Mario Rodríguez, Jr.

 

The Maryland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is the main state institution for the representation and promotion of commercial interests before the public and private sector. Its mission is to promote the establishment, growth, prosperity and retention of Hispanic businesses, and those entities and individuals that support them in the State of Maryland.
